Admission for Overseas Chinese and Hong Kong or Macau Students

  • The University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students oversees master’s and PhD admission of ethnically Chinese students who are not Taiwanese citizens and graduated from Taiwanese or foreign universities. For details about university and departmental admission regulations, as well as enrollment quotas, please visit the committee website to download the relevant information.
  • Please refer to the admission regulations for the current year. Overseas Chinese applicants and those from Hong Kong or Macau are required to submit all of the following documentation:

 

  1. Diploma from the highest academic degree attained (required)
  2. Original copies of the applicant’s full undergraduate and graduate transcripts (required)
  3. Study plan and research proposal in English (required; no more than 1500 words in length)
  4. Two recommendation letters from former professors (required)
  5. An introductory video (required): please introduce yourself and discuss your research interests in English in no more than 10 minutes (upload the video file to YouTube and provide the link)
  6. Academic publication or writing sample (required):the applicant’s master’s thesis or a sample of English academic writing, preferably published
  7. Certificate or relevant documentation of language proficiency (required):an English proficiency certificate showing that the applicant meets CEFR C1 level
  8. CV in English (required):no more than 2 pages
