Dr. Haowen Jiang is a Customer Success Engineer at IBM, specializing in client engineering and the design of Generative AI systems that bridge technical innovation with human-centered solutions. His career spans diverse roles across industries, including life insurance, business intelligence, and academia. Before entering the tech sector, he built a career as an English lecturer and linguistics researcher, drawing on his academic expertise in language typology and indigenous languages of Taiwan. His unique journey—from linguistics and grammatical studies to enterprise AI—embodies the power of interdisciplinary learning, continuous reinvention, and the fusion of humanities with cutting-edge technology. |

Along the way, we’ll unpack the idea of AI agents: digital collaborators that automate tasks, generate insights, and reshape how enterprises work. But technology alone isn’t enough. Humanities skills—communication, empathy, critical thinking—are the secret ingredients that make AI human-centered. We’ll spotlight the skills language majors can strengthen—data literacy, literate programming, and interdisciplinary teamwork—to thrive in this new era. The message is clear: your background in languages isn’t a limitation, it’s a launchpad for co‑creating the future with AI.
當一位英語／語言學背景的畢業生踏入人工智慧的世界，會發生什麼樣的轉變？本演講將以坦誠而真實的經歷，分享一段跨域轉型的故事——從文字與語言出發，走向程式與資料；從文法分析延伸至結合人工智慧系統的商業分析。在這個過程中，我們也將深入探討「AI agents」的概念：這些數位協作夥伴能夠自動化工作流程、生成洞見，並逐步重塑企業運作的方式。 然而，技術本身並不足以構成完整的解方。人文素養——如溝通能力、同理心與批判思考——正是讓人工智慧得以真正以人為本的重要關鍵。本演講亦將聚焦於語言相關科系學生可進一步培養的核心能力，包括資料素養（data literacy）、可讀式程式設計（literate programming），以及跨領域團隊合作能力，使其能在這個新時代中發揮所長並持續成長。 最重要的訊息是：語言背景並非限制，而是一個重要的起點，使我們得以與人工智慧共同創造未來。
