The Graduate Institute of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University welcomes prospective international students.

The MA and PhD programs focus on English and American literatures, comparative literature, and related disciplines. Through a wide range of seminars, visiting speakers, and other academic events, students in our Institute are engaged with some of the most pressing issues in the discipline of literary and cultural studies today.

To apply to our PhD Program, you need to prepare the following documents:

1. Proof (diploma) of highest degree
2. Original copy of BA and MA transcripts
3. A Research Proposal in English (no more than 1200 words)
4. Two recommendation letters from former professors
5. Introductory video：please introduce yourself and discuss your research interests in English in no more than 10 minutes (upload the video file to Youtube and provide the link)
6. MA thesis or published academic works in English
7. An English proficiency certificate showing that the applicant meets CEFR C1 level
8. CV (no more than 2 pages)
