Recruitment for Freshman English (EMI Preparation Program) Teaching Assistants (4 Positions)

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures is recruiting four Teaching Assistants for the Freshman English (EMI Preparation Program). EMI stands for English as a Medium of Instruction. This program is collaboratively developed and optimized by the instructors to equip students with the English skills needed for EMI courses, ensuring a smooth transition to EMI coursework. The selected candidates will work with the instructors during the 113-1 semester, with the possibility of renewal for 113-2 based on performance.

  1. Job Responsibilities
  • Attend weekly classes.
  • Design integrated speaking and writing exercises.
  • Assist in designing EMI activity quizzes or worksheets.
  • Grade assignments and speaking project drafts.
  • Conduct 10-minute speaking practice sessions with students outside of class.
  • Perform other teaching-related tasks as assigned.
  1. Applicant Qualifications
  • Current NTU master’s students or undergraduates in their third year or above, regardless of department, are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be fluent in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with a proficiency level of CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) B2 or above.

    Compensation will be in accordance with NTU regulations governing scholarships for Teaching Assistantships.
