The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University announces one adjunct position in TESOL. Initial appointment will begin on August 1, 2023.
Minimum Qualifications: The candidate should have a Master’s degree or above in TESOL or a related field. Preference will be given to those who hold the teacher certificate in secondary education issued by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan or have completed the Teacher Education Program for Secondary Education in Taiwan. The candidate should submit at least one academic book (including MA or PhD thesis) or two academic papers, all of which must be published after August 2018.
Teaching Load: At least 4 hours of TESOL-related courses required by the NTU Center for Teacher Education (including Teaching Methods and Materials in English/Languages and Practicum in English/Languages) and basic language courses.
Salary and Rank: Adjunct faculty members are paid by the hour at 795NTD for Assistant Professors and 725NTD for Lecturers; subject to 18% income tax for those who hold a foreign passport and reside in Taiwan less than 183 days in a calendar year.

– photocopy of diploma of highest degree
– postsecondary transcript of highest degree
– two letters of recommendation
– proof of past/current employment
– a photocopy of R.O.C. ID (both sides) (for foreign passport holders, a photocopy of your passport)
– three hard copies of each academic publication listed in the application form
