Students or double-majors from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures can apply for entry into the direct-entry doctoral degree program.
Current undergraduate students (including double-majors) graduating in the current academic year and master’s students having completed at least one semester of study who demonstrate outstanding research potential may, with the recommendation of two professors (assistant professors or above) from the Department, apply for entry into the Department’s direct-entry Ph.D. program provided that one of the following conditions is met:
- A cumulative GPA in the top 25% of the student’s academic program over the period of studies completed.
- Outstanding academic achievement as recognized by the Department with justifiable cause.
Students interested in applying to DFLL’s direct-entry doctoral program should submit the application form and the required documents as stated in the regulations to the DFLL Office before April 1st, 2025.
