 Considering the increasing importance of the European Union and European countries’, the “European and EU Studies Program” is established to enhance National Taiwan University  students’ knowledge toward the European Union, European languages, and cultural and social aspects, provide multiple European languages program and EU studies programs, and coordinate with professional courses on European culture, art, politics, economics, and law to develop fundamental training in the practice and academic research of Europe and EU affairs.

This program is divided into European language proficiency courses, diversified European language courses, and EU studies courses. Students are required to take 24 credit hours from one of the three schemes below:
a. European language proficiency scheme: 14 credits of compulsory European languages courses, and 10 credits of compulsory Professional courses.
b. Diversified European language scheme: 12 credits of compulsory European languages courses, and 12 credits of compulsory Professional courses.
c.  EU studies scheme: 12 credits of compulsory European languages courses, and 12 credits of compulsory EU Professional courses (should at least take 4 professional courses from the appointed list).

Credits obtained from the completion of compulsory courses from the Student’s major, double major, and minor subjects cannot be included into credits required for Professional courses. Students should complete 24 credits as required without violating course regulations of the affiliated department..
